Summary of Duties:
The Clinical Analyst is responsible for planning and executing clinical software implementation and application support for all clinical departments. This position will be required to evaluate user requests in relation to the functionality of the Health Care Information System (HCIS) software and the department’s workflow processes and implemented solutions. Emphasis involves HCIS training among physicians, nurses, and all other end users. Collaboration with other departments to insure CMS and other regulatory understanding and education also falls under the responsibility of the Clinical Analyst. Working experience with clinical functions of HCIS software will be used to assist with training end users as well as defining department specific super users. The Clinical Analyst builds relationships with physicians as well as all other clinical staff. This position is not limited to the responsibilities listed and may be revised as needed in the future.
Essential Functions:
1.Develops, maintains, and analyzes computer applications/systems to end user satisfaction.
2.Analyzes relevant design work to include testing and live implementation of HCIS modules.
3.Maintains constant communication with all HCIS users to assist with change management
4.Educates/teaches end users on how to use portions of the HCIS that pertain to primary roles.
5.Coordinates and assists in installation of new updates to the HCIS with all departments.
6.Remains updated with technology through educational opportunities, webinars, conferences, etc.
7.Maintains a high level of interaction with all clinical areas to continually enhance patient care.
8.Attends HCIS related interdepartmental meetings to assure clinical documentation needs are met.
9.Provides extended user support during HCIS maintenance and unforeseen downtimes.
10.Monitors CMS and other regulatory measures and requirements and provides ongoing education.
11.Trains physicians and other providers in the correct use of the documentation system.
12.Defines clinical reporting needs and coordinates the implementation of the identified reports.
13.Continually reviews CMS requirements and updates to make informed clinical IT decisions.
14.Educates all healthcare providers on why technology is needed to improve upon patient outcomes.
15.With gained experience, assists with IS on-call for after-hours troubleshooting issues.

Qualifications:
1.Adequate understanding of HCIS governmental requirements
2.Information Technology understanding from a clinical perspective.
3.Clinical governance and project development and management
4.Understanding of IT’s impact on patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
1.Bachelor’s degree or higher in Health Informatics, Nursing or related field preferred.
