Pay: Base Wage starting at $22.00; increased based on experience

Essential Functions:
- Follow a quality management system based on standards of nursing care and practice, operating from quality improvement principles, and integrated with the medical center’s plan.
- Identify and implement the most cost effective means of meeting the patient needs through appropriate utilization of resources.
- Positively impacts the patient experience at Nevada Regional Medical Center through enhanced clear, respectful, and effective communication skills.
- Provides accurate documentation of patient information in the electronic medical record.
- Assists nursing staff with duties, within scope of practice, in providing essential patient cares as assigned.
- Utilizes current Surgical Technologist Theory appropriate to the age of patients served, follows Standards of Care, Standards of Practice, and State Practice Guidelines to deliver care.
- Utilizes Principles of Strategic Quality Management, maintains a safe environment of care, follows plan of care established for patient, contributes to a collaborative practice with RNs and other disciplines, and behaves and practices in a manner consistent with the mission and objectives of NRMC.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
- Ability to complete competency for surgical scrub skills.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical equations.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
- Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 12 hours or longer per day.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology
- Must maintain a telephone in residence.
- Be able to report within 15 minutes of contact for STAT call-back while on call.
- Adhere to the dress code at NRMC.
- Must successfully pass Patient Care Orientation.
- Class C Basic Life Support (CPR) within 90 days of employment and renewed biannually.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
