*Base Starting Pay: $16.75
Essential Functions:
- Inspects equipment and facilities for proper operation and working condition, maintains routine records and determines type and extent of malfunction of equipment and, as necessary, adjusts, disassembles, and repairs or replaces parts or components, reassembles and tests for proper operation. Reports more serious problems to Engineer ll, Supervisor, or Director for instructions or maintenance scheduling.
- May attend gas fired steam boilers, water softeners, and heaters. May make necessary adjustments to assure proper steam pressure, combustion, water flow, water level, and proper operation of safety devices and auxiliary equipment. Test boiler water and add chemical as necessary.
- May service and make repairs to heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including fans, motors, radiators, thermostats, dampers and regulating controls; replace filters and fluids as necessary, and maintain routine records of repairs, etc.
- Performs a variety of routine manual duties as required, such as moving supplies, furniture, equipment, removing trash, scrap material, and replace light bulbs, etc.
- Establish and maintains courteous, cooperative relations when interacting with others.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Maintains reading and logs on equipment and records any variations, repairs or adjustments required.
- Has working knowledge of the fire alarm system and responsibilities in the event of a fire or disaster.
- Has working knowledge of preventative maintenance system and performs preventative maintenance in accordance with Maintenance Supervisor's instructions.
- Understands proper use and care of hand tools, portable power tools and ground equipment.
- Demonstrates working knowledge of safety requirements and procedures.
- Maintains neat and clean work area at all times, within department areas.
- Will study, earn, and demonstrate abilities of Maintenance Engineer ll.
- May be required to work any assigned shift and perform any duties as assigned.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
- Ability to complete competency CPR and First Aid.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
- Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
- Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 12 hours or longer per workday.
- The ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must adhere to department dress code and live within 30 minutes of the facility.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year prior experience.
