Description
Essential Functions:
1.Coordinate all aspects of the hospital’s Trauma and Stroke Program and provide support for dept manager, ensuring alignment with best practice guidelines and regulatory standards.
2.Serve as the primary point of contact for trauma and stroke program accreditation, audits, and performance reviews.
3.Collect, validate, and analyze trauma and stroke data; prepare reports and dashboards to monitor performance metrics (e.g., door-to-needle time, NIHSS documentation, dysphagia screening compliance).
4. Lead and facilitate the Trauma and Stroke Committee, including agenda preparation, minutes, and follow-up on action items
5. Collaborate with Emergency Department, Radiology, and Nursing teams to optimize stroke alert workflows and response times.
6.Develop and deliver trauma and stroke-related education and training for staff, patients, and the community.
7.Monitor compliance with core measures and clinical pathways; identify gaps and implement performance improvement projects.
8.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trauma and stroke care standards and participate in relevant professional organizations or conferences.
9.Support public education and outreach activities related to trauma and stroke prevention and awareness.
10.Participate in call or after-hours responsibilities related to trauma and stroke alerts as needed.
11.Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor for the betterment of patient care.

Physical Demands:
1.Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per workday.
2.The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
1.Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in emergency or critical care nursing.
2.Current Missouri or Compact RN license required.
3.BLS and ACLS certification required.
4.Associate’s degree in Nursing required

Preferred Qualifications:
1.Experience with data abstraction, quality improvement, or program coordination preferred.
2.Familiarity with stroke registry systems (e.g., Get With The Guidelines–Stroke) is highly desirable.
3.Certification in Stroke Nursing preferred.
4.Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field preferred.
