Pay: Base Wage starting at $17; increased based on experience
Incentive Eligible Position: Yes
Essential Functions:
- Accurately gathers information from patients admitted to the hospital pertaining to that patient’s finances. This includes but is not limited to the behavioral health unit.
- Accurately updates patient information such as insurance information and/or mailing addresses etc.
- Determines and documents accounts if a patient qualifies for NRMC’s financial assistance program.
- Monitors un-paid accounts and marks them for bad debt.
- Reaches out to patients to offer a financial aid packet.
- Organizes and maintains accurate records of financial aide packets.
- Monitors patient accounts who have filed for bankruptcy and determines if a claim needs filed.
- Establishes reoccurring payments for patients.
- Identifies accounts of deceased individuals and determines if a probate can/should be filed.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels.
- Ability to utilize best practice and procedures to assist in the care and wellbeing of patients served.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to distressed patients, families or visitors.
- Possible exposure to inside environmental conditions.
Physical Demands:
- Requires standing, sitting or walking for up to 8 hours or longer per day.
- The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent. Must adhere to the NRMC appearance and attire policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience.
- Some knowledge of healthcare billing.
- Previous experience with bankruptcy/probate.
- Previous cashier experience.
